United Russia wins runaway victory in Moldova
RBC, 03.12.2007, Chisinau 13:53:39.According to preliminary data, a vast majority of Russians living in Moldova, or 81 percent, voted for Unified Russia, RBC has been told at Russia's Embassy in Chisinau. The remaining parties collected under 7 percent of the vote, in particular 4.9 percent for Fair Russia, 4.8 percent for the Liberal Democratic Party, and 4.3 percent for the Communist Party. In total, some 49,500 Russians cast their vote in the parliamentary elections in Moldova, including some 47,000 people in Transnistria's 24 polling stations, and 2,500 people in Chisinau at the Russian Embassy.
