Payments for gas to be timely, Ukraine PM assures
RBC, 20.11.2009, Moscow 14:06:45.Ukraine has been paying for Russian natural gas supplies on time and hopes to continue doing so in the future, as well as adequately performing its functions as a gas transiting country, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko said at the meeting of the Russia-Ukraine economic cooperation committee in Yalta. She stressed that the two countries had made "certain positive achievements" in the fuel and energy sector, which she considered a high-priority sphere. Timoshenko reiterated that Russia and Ukraine signed a long-term gas supplies and transit agreement up until 2019 and thanked Russia for "lending a hand to Ukraine during a time of crisis." The Prime Minister maintains that the two countries are fulfilling their obligations in full, thus assuring their European partners.
