Russia registers positive trade surplus
RBC, 24.11.2009, Moscow 10:59:29.Russia's trade surplus was positive at $88bn in the first 10 months of 2009, acting head of the Economic Development ministry's macroeconomic forecasting department Oleg Zasov told journalists today. He also indicated that the year-on-year trade surplus nearly halved from $166.7bn in January-October 2008. According to preliminary data from the ministry, trade balance surplus amounted to $11.3bn in October 2009, with exports at $30bn and imports at $18.7bn. Meanwhile, Russia's 10-month exports stood at $238.2bn and imports at $150.2bn. As Zasov reiterated, in 2008, the respective figures were $246bn and $412.7bn.
